Dene Hotel – Hotel near airport in Newcastle upon Tyne

My stay at the hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, but unfortunately, they were not cleaned properly, especially the shower rooms, even after I raised the issue with the staff. The smell of cigarette smoke in my allocated room was a major turnoff, and I had to request a room change.

The hotel is tucked away on a quiet street but just a stone's throw from the bustling Jesmond 'high street' and a short walk to the West Jesmond Metro, making it essential for our stay. The rooms were a good size, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean, although slightly warm with only one tiny window. The service was exceptional, especially with the night porter Michael promptly solving a radiator issue and providing a portable heater. The dining options offered a good choice, although the breakfast finishing at 10 am felt a tad early for late risers. Overall, the hotel provided great value for money with its convenient location and fantastic service.
